President Bola Tinubu approved a high-powered Nigerian delegation led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila to attend the inaugural Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference (NIDEC 2026) in Toronto, Canada, from August 12-15, 2026. The delegation includes five state governors, three federal ministers, and representatives from key agencies such as the Nigeria — Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria — Nigeria Customs Service, and Nigeria — Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission. The conference, themed 'Invest Nigeria, Thrive Abroad,' aims to attract diaspora investment and strengthen Nigeria-Canada economic ties. Canadian officials, including Treasury Board President Shafqat Ali and Ontario ministers, are expected to participate. The event is organized by the Nigeria — Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in collaboration with the Nigeria — High Commission of Nigeria and the Canada — High Commission of Canada in Abuja.
