ExxonMobil Moçambique, on behalf of the Area 4 co-venturers (ENH, CNPC, Eni, KOGAS, and XRG), awarded approximately $1.1 billion in pre-investment contracts for long-lead upstream equipment for the Rovuma LNG Phase 1 project in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. The contracts cover subsea production systems, large-bore production valves, and offshore line pipe. The largest award went to SLB — OneSubsea (with Aker Solutions support), while other contracts went to Advanced Technology Group, Corinth Pipeworks, Sumitomo Corporation of America, and Zhejiang Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals. Earlier, ExxonMobil issued a letter of intent to McDermott Energy Solutions for engineering and procurement services. These awards advance the project toward a final investment decision expected later this year. The Rovuma LNG project plans an 18.6 million tonnes per annum onshore LNG facility, with startup targeted for 2031, representing ExxonMobil's largest single investment.
