RSS Chief Bhagwat Backs Reservation

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, addressing a youth interaction summit in Mumbai, stated that reservation policies must continue until social discrimination is fully eradicated. Invoking the vision of B. R. Ambedkar, he emphasized that affirmative action is rooted in social justice and should be implemented according to Ambedkar's original intent. Bhagwat noted growing demands for sub-categorisation within reserved communities and referenced observations by the India — Supreme Court of India. He criticized the politicisation of reservation, urging transparency and purity of intent in its execution. He encouraged beneficiaries to pass on advantages to others, framing quotas as temporary stepping stones for upliftment. Following his address, Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of India — World Trade Centre, Mumbai, commented on the Jantar Mantar incident, suggesting that earlier government dialogue could have prevented the chaos. Jayant Sinha, President of Everstone Capital, praised Bhagwat's engagement with Gen Z. The event concluded with a gesture between Bhagwat and I.I.M.U.N. founder Rish Shah.
