The record luxury home sales signal robust demand in India's premium real estate segment, potentially boosting developer revenues and investor confidence. However, the expected moderation in growth may temper future market expectations.
According to a joint report by Italy Sotheby s International Realty and CRE Matrix, India — Mumbai's luxury housing market recorded its highest-ever half-yearly sales of Rs 18,512 crore in H1 2026, driven by strong demand from high-net-worth individuals. Sales volume rose 26% year-on-year to 957 units, with the Rs 20-40 crore segment seeing significant growth. However, the report cautions that growth may moderate due to the high base and cautious economic outlook. Worli emerged as the top performer, while Lower Parel showed promising growth potential.
