The state government released Rs 75 crore for automated laboratories at Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialities (AIMSS) Chamiyana, IGMC Shimla, and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, enabling multiple tests from a single blood sample. Sukhu ordered instant diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, and X-rays without waiting periods, and floated tenders for lab equipment. The government is also considering direct procurement of quality medicines from manufacturers to improve availability and standards. These reforms follow consultations with faculty and doctors, aiming to provide world-class healthcare within the state and reduce out-of-state treatment.
