Potts Law Firm files fourth xAI CSAM lawsuit

Potts Law Firm has filed a series of civil lawsuits against Xai, the company behind the Grok AI chatbot, on behalf of families whose minor children were allegedly depicted in AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The lawsuits stem from a criminal investigation involving a Bentonville photographer charged with felony offenses related to AI-generated CSAM. The complaints allege that Xai's AI platform, including Grok's 'Spicy' and 'Unhinged' modes, was used to generate or facilitate the creation of explicit images from authentic photographs of the children. The first lawsuit was filed in July 2026, followed by a second in late July, a third in early August, and a fourth on August 14, 2026. The fourth lawsuit involves a 16-year-old male victim, the first male victim in the series. Potts Law Firm, led by Derek Potts, anticipates additional lawsuits as more families come forward. The lawsuits seek damages for emotional distress, privacy violations, and other harms, and are filed in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.
