Nigerian Navy recovers stolen crude oil

The Nigeria — Nigerian Navy, under Operation Delta Sentinel, recovered approximately 105,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil in Nigeria — Delta State. The operations, conducted within the Nigeria — Nigerian Navy Area of Operation, uncovered concealed storage facilities in the Oteghele axis. The recoveries comprised 60,000 litres and 45,000 litres at separate locations. Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, Director of Naval Information, stated that the operations are part of sustained efforts to disrupt crude oil theft networks, protect critical oil and gas assets, and prevent economic losses. The Navy also deactivated illegal refining sites in Nigeria — Rivers State earlier in the week, recovering an additional 85,300 litres of stolen crude. These actions are part of broader efforts to combat crude oil theft and illegal bunkering across the Nigeria — Niger Delta, which have undermined Nigeria's oil production and government revenue.
