Sahara Upstream appoints Gopi Nath oilfield services director

Sahara Upstream, the upstream arm of Sahara Group, has appointed Gopi Nath as Director of Oilfield Services. In this role, Nath will provide strategic oversight for two of Sahara's oilfield services subsidiaries: Arahas Global Oilfield Services (Arahas) and SGIR Rigs and Energy Limited (SGIR). The appointment is part of Sahara Upstream's broader transformation and its 'Beyond XXX' strategy to build integrated, future-ready service platforms supporting Africa's energy industry. Executive Director Ade Odunsi stated that the move reflects Sahara's continued investment in indigenous oilfield services capacity and its commitment to strengthening local capabilities, operational excellence, and sustainable execution across the upstream value chain. Nath, who previously held leadership roles in the energy sector, will focus on enhancing collaboration between Arahas and SGIR, driving execution excellence, and expanding service offerings to meet the evolving needs of Africa's energy industry. Arahas provides engineering-led oilfield services, while SGIR offers drilling, engineering, project execution, and field support services. Together, they form a critical component of Sahara Upstream's long-term strategy to strengthen local capacity and provide integrated solutions across the upstream value chain.
