The launch signals growing investment in AI infrastructure in emerging markets, potentially boosting demand for Nvidia GPUs and Dell servers. Nvidia's planned investment in Firebird and the rapid expansion of AI capacity in Armenia and Kazakhstan could enhance the competitive position of these companies in the sovereign AI market.

Firebird, a U.S.-based AI cloud infrastructure provider, officially launched the largest Nvidia DSX AI factory in the CIS region in Hrazdan, Armenia, on August 9, 2026. The facility, built in just over six months using Nvidia's DSX reference design and Dell PowerEdge servers, marks the operational debut of Firebird's global AI infrastructure platform. The opening ceremony was attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (via video), Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev, and U.S. diplomats. Firebird plans to scale the Armenian site to over 70,000 Nvidia Rubin and Blackwell GPUs and 300 megawatts of capacity by end of 2027, positioning it among Europe's largest AI infrastructure platforms. The company also announced that Nvidia intends to invest in Firebird, following an earlier investment by CoreWeave. Firebird has secured 125 megawatts of capacity in Kazakhstan and targets 2 gigawatts of global AI infrastructure capacity by end of 2028. Perplexity AI was announced as one of the first customers. The project is supported by Dell Technologies, Schneider Electric, and Vertiv, and aligns with regional AI strategies, including Kazakhstan's Digital Qazaqstan and Uzbekistan's AI priorities.
