Kano Building Collapse Rescue

On August 8, 2026, a residential building collapsed in the Dan Dishe area of Kwanar Yashi, Fagge Local Government Area, Nigeria — Kano State, Nigeria. The Nigeria — Gombe State Fire Service received a distress call at approximately 4:32 a.m. and mobilized personnel to the scene. The collapsed building measured about 20 by 30 feet. Sixteen people were affected, with 13 rescued alive, including six children identified as Al-Mustapha Yusuf, Khadija Yusuf, Ummusalama Yusuf, Madina Yusuf, and Hafsat Yusuf. Three other children were rescued unconscious. All victims were handed over to Ibrahim, a relative. The cause of the collapse is under investigation, and the fire service urged the public to observe safety precautions, particularly during the rainy season.
