Taiwan Han Kuang war games Penghu drill

Taiwan's military conducted a live-fire drill on the Taiwan — Penghu Islands on August 10, 2026, simulating the repulsion of a Chinese air landing assault. Essential services such as ATMs, traffic signals, and emergency calls were unaffected. The government had alerted the public via text messages and social media. Northern Taiwan, including Taipei, will see similar exercises on August 13. Taiwan rejects China's sovereignty claims, asserting that only its people can decide their future.
