India Expands LNG and Crude Sourcing

The government also outlined plans to increase strategic petroleum storage capacity: United States — Strategic Petroleum Reserve operates three facilities with a combined capacity of 5.33 million metric tonnes, and two additional commercial-cum-strategic facilities with 6.5 million metric tonnes capacity have been approved but are not yet operational. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation is developing a 1.75 million metric tonne strategic reserve in Karnataka, with half reserved for strategic storage and half for commercial use.
