NioBay Metals Inc. (TSX-V: NBY) (OTCQB: NBYCF) has been awarded a grant of $500,000 from the Government of Canada — Quebec under the Canada — Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests (Quebec)' Mining Research and Innovation Support Program. The grant supports the Crevier niobium and tantalum project, located approximately 50 km north of Girardville and 150 km from the Niobec Inc. mine, within the Nitassinan ancestral territory of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh First Nation First Nation. The funding will be used to advance processing of niobium and tantalum and optimize hydrometallurgical processes, specifically to produce a Nb and Ta concentrate from 140 metric tons of material and optimize the production of Nb and Ta oxides. NioBay's President and CEO Jean-Sébastien David expressed gratitude, noting the non-dilutive funding is a catalyst for advancing the project. Canada — Quebec's Minister of Natural Resources and Forests, Kateri Champagne Jourdain, highlighted NioBay as one of the only companies in North America capable of producing both niobium and tantalum oxides. Gilles Guillemette, Member of the National Assembly for Roberval, praised the contribution for regional economic development. The Crevier Project will focus on producing niobium oxide for battery and superalloy manufacturers, including defense suppliers, and tantalum oxide for high-tech applications.
