On August 6, 2026, United Kingdom — Border Force officers at United Kingdom — London Gateway Port in Essex, acting on intelligence from the United Kingdom — National Crime Agency (NCA), seized approximately 2.9 tonnes of cocaine with an estimated street value of £232 million. The drugs were hidden in a shipment of bananas from South America. The container was allowed to be delivered to a location near Buntingford, Hertfordshire, where NCA officers arrested nine men. All nine were later released on bail pending further investigation.
