India and Israel are deepening their bilateral development partnership. India's Ambassador to Israel, Jitender Pal Singh, met Eynat Shlein, Head of Israel — Mashav, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, in Jerusalem to discuss expanding cooperation in agriculture, water management, and aquaculture. The talks focused on scaling up Centers of Excellence in agriculture and capacity-building in water management. Concurrently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone, reviewing progress under the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and exchanging views on the situation in West Asia. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. Additionally, in July, India and Israel concluded the second round of negotiations for a proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in New Delhi, with both sides expressing commitment to an early, balanced, and mutually beneficial agreement.
