Navitas Semiconductor Corporation filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Renesas Electronics Corporation in the United States — United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on August 10, 2026. Navitas alleges that Renesas' major GaN product lines, including its SuperGaN power semiconductors, infringe four of Navitas' U.S. patents (Nos. 9,929,079; 11,545,838; 11,770,010; and 11,862,996). The lawsuit is a countermove to a prior suit filed by Renesas in California federal court, in which Renesas accused Navitas of poaching employees to steal trade secrets for GaN chip development. Navitas CEO Chris Alexandre stated that the company is defending its intellectual property and promoting fair competition.
