Vietcombank, Vietnam's leading state-owned commercial bank, announced a strategic partnership with Virtusa Corporation to build a greenfield, AI-native corporate digital banking platform named VCB Corporate DigiBank. The project, which kicked off on July 30 in Hanoi, is the largest technology project in Vietcombank's history. The multi-year transformation will replace legacy infrastructure with a cloud-native architecture, delivering a mobile-first experience for corporate clients. Virtusa will employ a collaborative build model with a Transfer of Technical Knowledge framework to ensure Vietcombank owns the platform and IP. The initial phase focuses on modernizing Account Management and Payments, with future releases expanding to lending, trade finance, collections, foreign exchange, and investments.
