The first crude cargo from Pikka marks the start of commercial exports, adding a new source of U.S. oil production and supporting Santos' production growth. This milestone is positive for Santos' shareholders and reinforces the viability of United States — Alaska's North Slope as a supply region, potentially benefiting the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and West Coast refiners.

Santos Limited announced the successful loading of the first crude oil cargo from the Pikka phase 1 development on United States — Alaska's North Slope. The inaugural cargo of 450,000 barrels of United States — Alaska North Slope crude was loaded aboard the Polar Resolution at the United States — Valdez Marine Terminal and is destined for the United States West Coast refining system. Pikka phase 1 is currently producing approximately 23,000 barrels of oil per day (gross), building toward plateau production of approximately 80,000 barrels per day, expected during the third quarter of 2026. Santos operates the project and holds a 51% interest in the Pikka Unit, with Repsol holding the remaining 49%. The project was delivered through a strong partnership with contractors, the State of United States — Alaska, United States — Alaska Native corporations and local communities. Santos Managing Director and CEO Kevin R. Gallagher highlighted the milestone as the commencement of commercial exports from Pikka and a demonstration of Santos' capability to develop this world-class resource. The project gives Santos a new source of U.S. oil production at a time when United States — Alaska is seeking additional North Slope supplies to support throughput through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. Earlier this year, Santos and partner Repsol further delineated the Nanushuk formation with the completion of the Quokka-1 appraisal well, which encountered high-quality reservoir and achieved a flow rate of 2,190 barrels of oil per day.
