Philips Future Health Index 2026 India AI report

Philips released the India findings of its Future Health Index 2026 report, surveying 200 healthcare professionals and 2,004 patients in India. The report highlights that 71% of Indian healthcare professionals say AI has increased their capacity to see more patients, compared to 50% globally, with clinicians seeing a median of 10 additional patients per week. 85% believe AI can improve patient outcomes, up from 76% in 2025. AI is also improving efficiency, with 82% reporting improved workflow efficiency and 58% saving at least 132 hours annually. The report emphasizes AI's potential to expand access to quality care in underserved and rural communities, with 80% of professionals agreeing. It also notes the need for stronger AI training and governance, as 45% say training is limited or inconsistent. Bharath Sesha, Managing Director of Philips Indian Subcontinent, commented on India's opportunity to lead responsible AI adoption in healthcare.
