Zuckerberg warns US AI lag

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg published a note warning that the United States risks losing its artificial intelligence leadership to China unless it accelerates the buildout of energy capacity and data centers. Zuckerberg outlined Meta's governance structure, where its independent board of directors would approve safety criteria for releasing AI models. He also discussed potential economic and societal impacts, including job creation and risks such as cybersecurity and bioterrorism.
