Arch Biopartners expands CS-AKI trial to US

Arch Biopartners Inc. announced on August 11, 2026 that it will expand its ongoing Phase II clinical trial of LSALT peptide, targeting cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury (CS-AKI), into the United States. The expansion follows interest from clinicians at five leading U.S. institutions. The trial is currently enrolling at four Canadian sites and five sites in Turkey, with no adverse events related to the study drug reported. The U.S. expansion aims to increase patient access and recruitment. New U.S. sites are expected to take four to six months to become operational. The trial is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study with a target of 240 patients, evaluating the percentage of subjects with AKI within seven days after on-pump cardiac surgery.
