On August 11, 2026, the India — List of diplomatic missions of India and various Nepali government bodies signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the execution of eight community development projects in Nepal's education, health, and agriculture sectors. The projects, valued at NPR 803 million, will be implemented through local government entities under the Government of Nepal, selected under India's High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) framework. The initiatives include digitalisation of B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, construction of agricultural centers, hospitals, a cold store, and a campus building across multiple districts. Since 2003, India has undertaken 605 HICDPs in Nepal, with 512 completed. The Embassy highlighted India's continued support for Nepal's development, including the gifting of 1,049 ambulances and 381 school buses.
