Oyebamiji disputes Adeleke Osun finances

During an Arise TV Town Hall Meeting in Nigeria — Osun State, APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji challenged Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration over its financial claims. Oyebamiji asserted that former Governor Gboyega Oyetola left about N15 billion for the incoming administration, contradicting Adeleke's narrative of an empty treasury. He argued that Osun received N650 billion under Adeleke in three and a half years, compared to N450 billion over 12 years under APC governors Rauf Aregbesola and Oyetola, and criticized that 97% of resources go to just two local governments. Oyebamiji commended President Bola Tinubu for fuel subsidy removal and economic reforms that increased federal allocations, but insisted the increased revenue has not translated into visible development. He pledged transparency, accountability, and equitable resource distribution if elected. The event is part of the campaign ahead of the August 15, 2026 Nigeria — Osun State governorship election.
