The Nigeria — Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, intercepted a range of contraband goods at the Nigeria-Ghana border, including 3,300 cartridges of explosive materials, 1,306 sacks of expired and decomposing noodles, 1,268 bags of smuggled foreign parboiled rice, illicit drugs (373 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, 90 packs of Tramaking 250mg, 69 packs of Royal Tapentadol 250mg), 310,000 sticks of Time/Yes cigarettes, and several vehicles and boats. The combined Duty Paid Value of the seizures was N365.16 million. The explosives were handed over to the Nigeria — Nigeria Police Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, while the drugs and pharmaceutical products were to be handed to the Nigeria — National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the United States — Food and Drug Administration. The Command also reported revenue of N19.84 billion between January and July 2026, a 24.45% increase over its full-year 2025 revenue of N15.94 billion, attributed to improved enforcement and compliance.
