GITEX Nigeria, West Africa's largest tech, AI, and startup event, will hold its second edition from August 31 to September 3, 2026, across Abuja and Lagos. Under the patronage of President Bola Tinubu, the event is supported by the Nigeria — Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, in collaboration with the Nigeria — National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), endorsed by the Nigeria — Lagos State Government, and organized by KAOUN International. Themed 'Beyond Connectivity, The Bridge to Sovereign Innovation,' the event highlights Nigeria's digital transformation agenda, including the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program, which has recorded 1.87 million registrations and trained over 135,000 Nigerians, and Project BRIDGE, a national ICT backbone expected to create up to 20,000 direct jobs and raise internet penetration above 70%. The event will feature the Government Leadership and AI Summit, Tech Expo, Future Economy Conference, Startup Festival, and the debut of FDX Nigeria by GITEX, focusing on finance and digital asset exchange. Nigeria aims to position itself as a leading AI hub, contributing to Africa's projected $1 trillion AI economic uplift by 2035.
