IIT Madras and Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) renewed and expanded their collaboration under the CAMS IIT Madras FinTech Innovation Lab (CIFIL) by signing a new MoU on 12 August 2026 at the IIT Madras campus. CIFIL, established in 2022 under CAMS' CSR initiatives, brings together CAMS' industry expertise and IIT Madras' academic research capabilities to foster innovation in the BFSI sector. The next phase will focus on emerging areas such as AI in financial services, digital payments, blockchain and tokenisation, cybersecurity, regulatory technology, WealthTech, InsurTech, digital lending, data analytics and financial inclusion. The lab will also expand its research portfolio, develop intellectual property, facilitate technology transfer, and support commercialisation of research-led solutions. The partnership will provide students with opportunities for research projects, internships, hackathons, and startup mentoring, while strengthening support for fintech startups through technical expertise, mentoring, industry networks, and innovation challenges. CAMS Managing Director Anuj Chaudhary and IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti both expressed optimism about the collaboration's potential to build cutting-edge fintech solutions for India's financial ecosystem.
