Bicara Therapeutics, an AI-driven drug discovery company based in Chengdu, China, announced the successful closing of an oversubscribed Series A financing round, raising nearly $30 million. The round was co-led by Legend Holdings and Shanghai Healthcare Capital, with participation from Inspire Medical Systems, Fenglei Capital, Shanghai Sci-Tech Innovation Center Capital, and Harbor & Canton Capital. Existing investors Root Venture Partners and YuanBio Venture Capital also continued their support. The funds will be used to accelerate the development of Beyang's proprietary AI platform ExCEED, advance its pipeline candidates through clinical and pre-clinical stages, and expand its international R&D and business development teams. Beyang's pipeline includes BT01001, a small-molecule eye drop for retinal diseases that has completed Phase I studies, and BT01002, a second-generation Menin inhibitor for acute leukemia that is in IND-enabling studies. The company's ExCEED platform ranked 8th globally in the OpenADMET blind prediction challenge, validating its precision and stability.
