Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) delivered MS Maria, the second of eight HS EcoFreighter series multi-purpose vessels (MPVs), to German shipping firm HS Schiffahrts UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG. The delivery and acceptance protocol was signed on August 12, 2026, between S. Harikrishnan, Director (Operations) of CSL, and Heinz Josef Schepers, Director of HS Schiffahrts. The 7,000 DWT ice-class vessel was designed by Groot Ship Design of the Netherlands and constructed at CSL in accordance with DNV classification rules. The vessel features a Groot Cross-Bow design, a single large cargo hold with movable panels, and is powered by a medium-speed diesel engine. This delivery marks a milestone in CSL's expanding presence in the international commercial shipbuilding market.
