Gunmen attack Plateau Berom communities

On Tuesday night, gunmen launched coordinated attacks on at least four Berom communities in Nigeria — Plateau State, Nigeria, including Gwa-Wereng Rim, Kyeng Village in Bachi District, Dorong, and Jol Village. According to the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), two people were killed: Bulus Mwagwong at Gwa-Wereng Rim and Stephen Dachollom Kaze at Kyeng Village. Another resident, Yakubu, was seriously injured. Houses were reportedly set ablaze in Dorong, and at Jol Village attackers exchanged gunfire with local vigilantes. The BYM condemned the attacks, called for stronger security presence, and appealed to the Nigeria — Plateau State Government for assistance to affected families. The Nigeria — Lagos State Police Command could not be reached for comment.
