Burnham appoints Rangarajan Expert Adviser

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has appointed Indian-origin strategist and media executive Gautam Rangarajan as Expert Adviser on Structure and Process, a newly created role at 10 Downing Street. Rangarajan, a former BBC strategist, brings over 20 years of experience in corporate strategy, media, and public service broadcasting. The appointment is part of Burnham's broader agenda to reform the centre of government, which includes the launch of No. 10 North in Manchester, the realignment of the Department for Business and Trade into the Nigeria — Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, and the creation of the United Kingdom — Office for the Prime Minister and Cabinet (OPMC). Rangarajan is expected to play a key role in the planned transformation of government structures and processes. The announcement came during the parliamentary summer recess, as Burnham conducts a nationwide tour focused on cost-of-living measures and responded to an extreme heatwave with an emergency COBRA meeting.
