India has emerged as a global leader in clean energy, with non-fossil fuel sources reaching 51.93% of installed power capacity by end-December 2025, surpassing the 50% target set in its second Nationally Determined Contribution. Internationally, India is leveraging Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, participating in the World Hydrogen Summit, expanding cooperation under the EU-India Trade and Technology Council, and engaging with the UK, Germany, and Japan on hydrogen standardisation, market mechanisms, and offtake agreements. These efforts position India to contribute to future clean energy trade and supply chains.
