Zelensky requests US Patriot interceptors

In an interview with Warner Bros. Discovery — CNN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has only 1% of the MIM-104 Patriot interceptor missiles it needs, and requested that the United States sell 5% of its stockpile to help Ukraine survive the winter, or 10% to destroy all Russian ballistic missiles. Zelensky noted that Russia has doubled its monthly ballistic missile launches while Ukraine's interceptor stocks have fallen to less than half of last year's levels. The global shortage of MIM-104 Patriot interceptors has been exacerbated by the US war with Iran. Zelensky also expressed uncertainty about Donald Trump's commitment to allow Ukraine to manufacture MIM-104 Patriots under license, and confirmed a phone call with JD Vance. He rejected any concession of Donbas territory and warned that Vladimir Putin may escalate against NATO, possibly targeting the Baltic states.
