Oman's Oman — Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) is advancing the development of four new industrial cities under the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030), aligned with Oman Vision 2040. The cities are located in Al Suwaiq (North Al Batinah), Al Mudhaibi (North Al Sharqiyah), Thumrait (Dhofar), and Madha (Musandam), covering a combined area of about 25.5 million square meters. The projects aim to strengthen Oman's industrial infrastructure, support economic diversification, attract local and foreign investment, support SMEs, and create job opportunities. Al Mudhaibi Industrial City is already under construction at an estimated cost of RO17 million ($44.2 million) and is about 7% complete. Madayn's 2026-2030 implementation program allocates more than OMR245 million to industrial-city projects, with targets including raising private investment to OMR8.6 billion and increasing the Omani share of employment to 44% by 2030. The developments are part of broader efforts to spread economic activity across governorates and boost the manufacturing sector's contribution to GDP.
