MetaOptics, a Singapore-based semiconductor optics company, announced on August 12-13, 2026 that it has entered into an agreement to install and deploy its metalens Direct Laser Writer (DLW) at the nano@stanford facility at Stanford University. This follows MetaOptics' recent acceptance as an Associate Member of Stanford Engineering's SystemX Alliance Program. The DLW, designed for 4-inch glass wafers, enables rapid prototyping and small-volume production of metalens, supporting applications such as co-packaged optics, collimating metalens, and imaging. nano@stanford will manage the DLW and make it available to its over 1,400 members, providing user feedback and demonstrations. This deployment is a key milestone in MetaOptics' U.S. expansion strategy, aiming to build a 'mini foundry' infrastructure in Silicon Valley and engage with top U.S. technology companies within the SystemX Alliance.
