The launch is expected to strengthen Alphabet Inc.'s position in the wearable fitness market in India, a key growth region, potentially boosting sales of Google — Fitbit devices and Alphabet Inc. Health subscriptions. It may also intensify competition with other screenless fitness trackers and smartwatch makers in the region.
Alphabet Inc. has confirmed that its screenless fitness tracker, Google — Fitbit Air, will launch in India in October 2026. The announcement was made during the Made by Alphabet Inc. event in India, where Alphabet Inc. also unveiled the Pixel 11 series and Pixel Watch 5. Google — Fitbit Air was first introduced globally in May 2026 at a starting price of $99.99 in the United States, with a Stephen Curry Special Edition priced at $129.99. The device weighs 12 grams, has no display, and offers continuous health tracking including heart rate, sleep, SpO2, AFib alerts, and automatic workout detection for over 140 activities. It integrates with the Alphabet Inc. Health app and Gemini-powered Alphabet Inc. Health Coach, and includes a three-month trial of Alphabet Inc. Health Premium. Indian pricing and exact launch date have not yet been announced. The launch aims to tap into India's growing market for lightweight health and wellness wearables.
