The acquisition is likely to positively impact IASO Bio's valuation by expanding its pipeline and global reach, potentially boosting investor confidence. For MediSix's investors, the deal provides an exit and potential upside through IASO Bio's commercial infrastructure.
IASO Biotechnology, a Chinese commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, announced the completion of its acquisition of MediSix Therapeutics, a Singapore-based immune cell engineering and cell therapy company. The acquisition integrates MediSix's proprietary PEBL (Protein Expression Blocker) platform, which addresses challenges in T-cell malignancies by reducing fratricide among CAR-T cells, and its lead programme IASO107 (formerly PCART7), currently in clinical evaluation. This move is part of IASO Bio's globalization strategy, aiming to strengthen its R&D and operational systems and accelerate international development of innovative cell therapies. MediSix was founded in 2016 based on research by Professor Dario Campana of the National University of Singapore, and was backed by investors including ClavystBio, Lightstone Ventures, Osage University Partners, and EDBI. The acquisition is expected to create synergies by combining MediSix's platform with IASO Bio's manufacturing and commercialization capabilities.
