DFW Airport installs Islamic foot washing stations

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is installing Wudu ablution stations (Islamic foot-washing basins) in Terminal D restrooms, a privately funded project costing approximately $300,000. The project was registered with the United States — Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on July 31 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The stations aim to prevent water spillage and damage from travelers washing feet in standard sinks, improving safety and hygiene. Similar facilities exist at other major U.S. airports, including Chicago O'Hare, Houston Bush Intercontinental, and Indianapolis. The announcement sparked online debate, with some conservatives criticizing the move and others, including activist Alban Fournier, defending it as practical infrastructure.
