LG and Nvidia have deepened their strategic collaboration, signing a memorandum of understanding on August 13, 2026, at Nvidia's headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The agreement covers three main areas: robotics, AI factories, and future mobility. In robotics, LG is developing a next-generation bipedal humanoid robot powered by Nvidia's Jetson Thor and built using the Isaac GR00T foundation model, with a public unveiling planned for Q1 2027. LG will also deploy its CLOiD wheel-based robots for validation at its washing machine plant in Tennessee. The companies are building a robot data factory at LG's Yangjae R&D Campus in Seoul, aiming to generate 100,000 hours of training data by year-end. In AI factories, LG plans to build reference sites using Nvidia's DSX architecture and Vera Rubin platform, with an 80 MW AI factory in Cheonan targeted for 2028. For mobility, LG will develop an AI-defined vehicle platform based on Nvidia DRIVE Hyperion. The collaboration involves multiple LG affiliates, including LG Electronics, LG Innotek, LG Energy Solution, LG Corporation — LG CNS, and LG Uplus, and is led by LG Corp Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
