The survey highlights the growing mobile threat landscape in APAC, potentially increasing demand for embedded security solutions and benefiting cybersecurity vendors like Kaspersky. It may also prompt banks, retailers, and app developers to invest more in mobile security, affecting the broader cybersecurity and digital payments industries.
Kaspersky released findings from its B2C Pulse Survey during the APAC Cyber Security Weekend in Guangzhou, China, showing that Asia-Pacific consumers lead global averages in digital engagement and cybercrime awareness. The survey found APAC consumers exceed global counterparts in online shopping (80% vs 71%), digital finance (72% vs 70%), digital entertainment (70% vs 62%), and digital communication (68% vs 61%). Cybercrime concern in APAC is 35% versus 32% globally, with highest awareness in Thailand (39%), Malaysia (38%), Indonesia (35%), China (34%), India (32%), and Vietnam (31%). Kaspersky reported blocking nearly 30,000 mobile attacks in APAC during Q1 2026, with India (18,187) and Indonesia (15,163) recording the highest volumes. Year-on-year increases were steep in Taiwan (+373%), Sri Lanka (+132%), Thailand (+127%), Bangladesh (+108%), China (+69%), and the Philippines (+28%). Kaspersky emphasized the need for embedded mobile security, promoting its Mobile Security SDK, Who Calls SDK, and Safe Web solutions to integrate protection directly into mobile applications.
