The launch of NIKA2 Kisan Drone by AkinAnalytics is a niche product introduction in the Indian agricultural drone market, potentially boosting the company's growth prospects and contributing to the indigenous drone ecosystem. While the direct market impact is limited to the drone and agri-tech sectors, it may attract investor interest in Indian DeepTech startups and support government initiatives promoting domestic manufacturing.
Hyderabad-based women-led DeepTech and Defence Technology startup AkinAnalytics launched its indigenous NIKA2 Kisan Medium Drone, a multi-payload agricultural drone with a 16-litre spraying payload and a 12-litre spreading payload. The drone was unveiled by Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi, who witnessed a demonstration. NIKA2 features terrain-following capability, fail-safe features, and night-operation capability, with applications in agriculture, aquaculture feed distribution, and plantation regions like tea-growing areas of Shillong and Meghalaya. AkinAnalytics, led by Founder and CEO Janaki Pulaparthi, is also developing an AI-Augmented Drone Analytics Platform and Digital Twin technologies. The company has received support from India — NIDHI PRAYAS, India — Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, India — MeitY SAMRIDH, and India — Innovations for Defence Excellence, and operates a DGCA-authorised Remote Pilot Training Organisation in Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh. The launch aligns with the company's 'Make in India, Go Global' vision.
