Soterion SAP License Manager 100 FUE Assessments

Soterion, a provider of GRC and SAP FUE licensing software, announced that its SAP License Manager module has completed its 100th Full User Equivalent (FUE) licensing assessment within one year of launch. The milestone highlights growing demand for specialist licensing expertise as organizations migrate from SAP ECC to SAP Cloud ERP Private. Under SAP's STAR measurement framework, FUE consumption is based on assigned authorizations rather than actual usage, leading many organizations to over-consume FUEs. Soterion's analysis of the first 100 assessments found that legacy SAP role designs typically overstated FUE requirements by approximately four times. The tool provides visibility into actual authorization usage, helping organizations reduce unnecessary subscription costs and manage true-up exposure. CEO Ed Cartwright emphasized that SAP role design has become a financial control, and effective FUE management is essential for successful migration strategies.
