The appointment strengthens Lazard's competitive position in the Swiss investment banking market, potentially increasing its deal flow and market share. It may also signal a talent war in the sector, but the immediate market impact is limited.
Lazard announced the expansion of its Financial Advisory business in the Geographical distribution of German speakers region with the appointment of Dr. Marco Superina to lead investment banking for Switzerland. Superina, formerly Head of Global Banking Switzerland at UBS, will be based in Zurich and advise on M&A, capital solutions, and strategic matters. He joins the Geographical distribution of German speakers management team led by Marcus Schenck. This move is part of Lazard's Lazard 2030 growth strategy to broaden coverage in key European markets.
