The investment signals continued private equity confidence in India's healthcare diagnostics sector, potentially boosting valuations and attracting further capital to the segment. It may also positively influence sentiment for listed diagnostics players like Metropolis Healthcare and Dr. Lal PathLabs as the sector consolidates and expands into smaller cities.

Healthcare Diagnostics Private Equity

Tata Capital Healthcare Fund III (TCHF III), the healthcare-focused private equity fund of Tata Sons — Tata Sons, and Switzerland-based impact investor Blue Earth Capital AG have invested approximately $30 million in Tenet Medcorp Private Limited, which operates under the brand Tenet Diagnostics. The investment, for an undisclosed equity stake, marks one of the first investments from TCHF III since its first close earlier this year. Tenet Diagnostics, founded in 2018 by Sricharan Devineni, operates more than 35 diagnostic centres across 14 Indian states and a pan-India B2B laboratory network offering over 3,000 specialised tests. The fresh capital will be used to expand Tenet's presence in existing markets, strengthen its B2B laboratory network, and pursue strategic inorganic opportunities. The deal reflects rising private equity interest in India's healthcare diagnostics sector, driven by consolidation among chains and expansion into tier-2 and tier-3 markets. Veda Corporate Advisors acted as exclusive financial advisor to Tenet Diagnostics.
