Afriex, a cross-border payments infrastructure company processing over $600 million in annual payment volume, announced a new sponsor and settlement banking partnership with A-BNB Global Innovations Limited (GIB). The partnership, effective in Q2 2026, strengthens Afriex's banking network, enabling faster settlement, expanded regulatory support, and Global USD Account access for businesses moving money across more than 35 countries. Afriex, originally a consumer remittance company, now powers cross-border payouts for remittance providers, payroll companies, ecommerce platforms, fintechs, banks, and other financial institutions. The GIB relationship complements existing banking partners including Choice Bank in Kenya and United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Nigeria. The partnership lays groundwork for additional treasury, foreign exchange, and global account capabilities. Afriex is backed by Y Combinator and registered with United States — Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as a Money Services Business.
