On August 17, 2026, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a review meeting in Islamabad on reforms at the Pakistan — Punjab Information Technology Board (NITB) and the construction progress of Pakistan — Islamabad Police. He directed NITB to prioritize easy, efficient, and modern digital services for citizens, and ordered all government digital platforms to be improved. He emphasized coordinated efforts among institutions to ensure timely, transparent, and accessible services. The PM highlighted the transition of federal ministries to e-office systems as a significant reform and directed its expansion to all subordinate departments and state-owned enterprises. He also called for accelerating digitization of government institutions and completing digital records of all public properties. Expressing displeasure over delays, he ordered expedited construction of Pakistan — Islamabad Police and full outsourcing of its management.
