Igbinedion University partners EduTech Global

Igbinedion University, Okada, a leading private university in Nigeria, has entered a strategic partnership with Coempt Edutech, an education technology company, to accelerate digital learning and expand access to its academic programmes. Under the agreement, Coempt Edutech will provide digital learning infrastructure and technology support for the university's Distance Learning Centre (DLC), enabling students to access university education remotely. The partnership aims to move most administrative and academic activities online, improve efficiency, and scale the distance learning model. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye said the collaboration represents a bold step into the future of higher education in Nigeria, breaking down geographical barriers and contributing to national workforce development. Director of the DLC, Prof. Gideon Barde, expects significant growth in enrolment and a more efficient, scalable system. Coempt Edutech's Co-founder and CTO Femi Shonubi emphasized that technology's true value lies in driving socio-economic impact through education, and the company helps institutions build connected learning ecosystems. General Manager Moyosore Asubiojo noted the growing demand for flexible higher education among working professionals and entrepreneurs. The partnership is expected to strengthen the university's competitiveness in the evolving higher education landscape and extend its reach beyond its traditional footprint.
