TGS, a global provider of energy data and intelligence, announced the Sarawak Phase 4 multi-client program offshore Malaysia, covering approximately 1,020 square kilometers. The survey, scheduled to mobilize in Q4 2026 with acquisition expected to complete in December 2026, is the fourth phase of a multi-client contract to acquire and process up to 105,000 square kilometers of 3D seismic data in Sarawak. Over 20,000 square kilometers have been acquired in the first three phases. The project is supported by industry funding. Petronas, through Malaysia Petroleum Management, is actively enhancing its datasets to introduce new exploration plays, particularly imaging the pre-Middle Miocene Unconformity play in the deep-water area of the Sarawak Basin. TGS also announced a separate multi-year contract with an international oil company to develop and deliver AI-powered seismic foundation model capabilities, leveraging TGS Seismic Foundation Model to accelerate subsurface interpretation.
