India-Israel FTA Negotiations Timeline

Israel and India are advancing negotiations on a proposed free trade agreement (FTA). Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar announced that two more rounds of talks are expected, one in October and a likely final round in February, with clarity on the pact expected by February 2027. The second round was held in July, following agreement on terms of reference at the end of 2025. Discussions have focused on market access, reciprocal buybacks, and cooperation, with high-tech cooperation identified as a key area for expanding bilateral economic ties. Azar noted that bridging market access gaps could be challenging due to differing market sizes and Israel's already lowered tariffs. The comments come amid efforts to deepen economic and technology partnership between the two countries.
