The launch of the U-C6850 strengthens Aitech's position in the defense and aerospace embedded computing market, potentially increasing its competitiveness and revenue opportunities. The product's SOSA alignment and high-speed capabilities may drive adoption among defense contractors modernizing their platforms, positively impacting Aitech's growth prospects.
Aitech, a provider of rugged embedded computing and connectivity systems for defense and space applications, announced the launch of its new U-C6850 10/40GbE Fully Managed Ethernet Switch/Router. This is Aitech's first SOSA-aligned Ethernet Switch/Router, designed to support modular, interoperable, and future-ready defense system architectures. The U-C6850 offers up to 320 Gbps of total switching capacity, with configurations supporting up to 8x 40GbE or 32x 10GbE Ethernet interfaces. It features advanced Layer2/Layer3 networking capabilities, integrated security features, low power consumption for SWaP-C optimization, and a rugged 3U VPX form factor aligned with the SOSA Technical Standard. The product is intended for military and aerospace platforms requiring high-speed, low-latency data exchange across compute, sensors, and communications networks. It complements Aitech's existing M622 Ethernet Switch/Router on an XMC form factor, providing customers with two SWaP-C optimized connectivity options. The U-C6850 is now available for mission development. Aitech's customers include major defense contractors such as Airbus, BAE Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and others.
