The appointment is a routine management change at a key manufacturing plant and is unlikely to have a significant direct impact on Ford's stock price. However, it signals continuity and focus on quality and operational excellence at a strategically important export hub.
Ford Motor Company has appointed Angela Weathers as plant manager of its Silverton Manufacturing Plant in Pretoria, South Africa, effective August 2026. Weathers, who previously served as director of manufacturing, quality operating systems at Ford in the US, brings over three decades of manufacturing leadership experience. She succeeds Suresh, who returned to India to become plant manager at Ford's Chennai Powertrain Operations. Weathers will report to Ockert Berry, vice president of manufacturing operations at Ford South Africa. The Silverton plant produces the Ford Ranger for South Africa and more than 100 export markets and recently received Ford's Global VO Plant Quality Excellence Award. The appointment coincides with Ford's second century of operations in South Africa.
